The first offspring of Adam and Eve was Cain, then his brother Abel was born. Eve thought Cain was her seed from the Lord, who would destroy the devil’s seed(Gen 3:15). Eve became the mother of all living from that point in history on( Gen 3:20)
The first offspring of mankind was Cain, who was supposed to be the one who would defeat the devil’s seed. This is the second recorded mental error that Eve made, the first being that knowing of evil would make them wise
And Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground – Gen 4:1,2
Cain became a farmer, and God did not accept his offering, showing his works were evil (ground was already cursed by God-Gen 3:17) from the beginning, whereas Abel’s was accepted (Heb 11:3-7), and his works were good
And in process of time, it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering. But unto Cain and to his offering, he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell – Gen 4:3-5
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaks – Heb 11:4

God confronts Cain about his offering not being accepted. He asks him why you are so angry and why your has countenance fallen(facial anger, prune face). Just like the left today, always angry and complaining
And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? And why is thy countenance fallen? If thou does well, shall thou not be accepted? And if thou does not well, sin lies at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. – Gen 4:6,7
The first murder recorded in the history of man after the fall was Cain killing Abel. Cain was a murderer from the beginning, and his father, the wicked one, was the devil
And Cain talked with Abel, his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel, his brother, and slew him – Gen 4:8
You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning (referring to Cain killing Abel) and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it – Jo 8:44
